 These last two years I haven't been much of a fan of Obon. It was a too bright reminder that my parents were gone from this world.

But, thanks to the hard work of several people, including Inui Sadaharu and my dearest heart, Momoshiro Takeshi...this year I get to celebrate two fewer of my ancestors.

How do I put this? I HAVE MY PARENTS BACK!!

We found them in a small village in Switzerland, less than 100 km from where the plane went down. Mother is in need of some surgery on her leg, and Father...well, Father is recovering from amnesia. Apparently I was the catalyst in his sudden memory return. This was last Monday. We flew back to Japan today. I'm...I'm still stunned. 

Kabaji, Yuushi...Hyoutei. Thank you for your support. I am...beyond words right now.

Atobe Keigo announces that he is dating (with an eye to matrimony), Momoshiro Takeshi. Atobe and Momoshiro have been seen periodically spending time together. When asked about an heir to the family business, Atobe merely raised an eyebrow and said, "That will be dealt with appropriately later." He went on to say that he appreciates his lover's way of looking at the world, citing it as, "a refreshing change of pace." When asked about Momoshiro's past as a drugged up sex slave for the yakuza, the temperature in the room dropped about ten degrees and Atobe ended the press conference. Momoshiro was not available for comment. 

For my Masqued Ball in two weeks. If you do not have anything to wear, something will be provided. Fancy dress, lace is optional (for some of you), masks are a must. Food will be provided as will music. The music will start with waltzes and the like, segueing up through the years as the night progresses. If you do not know how to waltz or do the Charleston, think Jazz hands are good enough, or think bump and grind is the height of modern dance...then you should arrive early, there will be lessons.

Taking Momo to Sapporo for the Snow Festival was an excellent idea. Having him and Kamio go crazy was amusing. The snow down my front was less so...and am still not entirely sure about the ramen.

Plus, now I have a cold.

First, I apologize for my extended absence. I have been in some touchy negotiations and did not realize to the extent that my PAs were filtering the information coming to me. I have firmly set them straight that NOT knowing about what is going on is far more stressful to me.

Munehiro, a thousand and one apologies for not being there when you needed me, and another for missing your birthday. I have sent over some help to your former home. I'm sure it will be better than ever very soon. Please don't worry about the bills at the hotel. Perhaps tomorrow I could take you and the family out shopping?

Sh--Ryo, I heard about your job. I have given the administration at Hyoutei a thorough talking to. I realize you may be bitter...if I can help you find a new job, please let me know.

Everyone, please accept my apologies. I didn't even through my annual Christmas Party. Perhaps I will do something in February to make up for it. Star Rangers Marathon, anyone?

My vacation was too short. Momo, would you like to take another? I just need to catch up on a few meetings.

Of which I have been in, it feels, non-stop since I got back. I get up, I go to a breakfast meeting, followed by a morning meeting, a lunch meeting, an afternoon meeting, dinner meeting, then meet with some group or another in the evening for the all important socializing. I barely have time for basic hygiene, it feels like. You'd think I'd at least be putting on a few pounds from all the meetings with meals, but I seem to barely eat during them. I think my PAs are about to stage an intervention.

The good news is that the plans in Africa are continuing apace. It is slow going and difficult considering all the obstacles we face, but...it continues!

I think I need to fall into a bath for about an hour, then go to bed. I've already given my trusted masseuse hand cramps.

...so how is everyone else? I hear Chitose woke up?

Oh, and you, Kabaji Ryou...getting older again, I see. I probably forgot your birthday, so I've sent you a lifetime pass for you and your family to the Ueno Zoo. You...family types like that sort of thing, right?
